The past two weeks a make up artist friend of mine and I decided to plan a photo shoot. It was mainly to help her build a beauty make up portfolio while also adding on to my portfolio. I decided that this should definitely happen and tried to organize everything from acquiring models, creating a schedule, organizing equipment we may need, renting a fairly cheap photo studio, ect. The wednesday before the weekend of the photoshoot, I emailed the owner of the studio to confirm that we are set for renting the space on Sunday and sent them a schedule for the day. The person replied thanking me for the confirmation and sharing the schedule, but then the person added that the restrooms may not be available on Sunday. Well, I have about eight people in my crew, including four models who would need to be comfortable and that means being able to comfortably use a restroom that's near by. Also, my MUA would absolutely need the restroom. Everyone needs a restroom! When I asked the person about the restroom situation they said that it was only available during weekdays. I guess it was partly on me for scheduling a Sunday shoot, but to be fair I don't think I ever saw anything on their website stating that the restrooms would be unavailable during weekends. Don't get me wrong, the person was very nice and I would definitely use the studio in the future. I'll just make sure to schedule it on weekdays so that my crew can pee and poop.
Anyway, after talking to my MUA about the restroom situation we decided to make a last minute change to switch the location photo shoot to my house instead. I didn't have as much space for the MUA or the photo team to work, but we managed to get some great photos in the end.
I definitely want to thank Alexis for a great job on make up and working together to make this shoot happen! I hope we did well on capturing your amazing make up talents. I can't wait to see it up on your website!
I also want to thank Amber for helping out with the photography. We both had some great shots that we can add on to our own portfolios! We are definitely still trying to learn a lot about photography and exchanging knowledge is helps a great deal!
I want to thank the models who took a part of their time to help with the photo shoot! You all we're amazing!
Finally I want to thank my girlfriend Elain who helped out out during the shoot!
It's definitely going to take awhile to edit the photos, but I can't wait to share and post it on my website. Stay tuned!
